Freshcare is an externally audited on farm
quality assurance system that controls all the
inputs according to Australian legislation to
ensure that the consumer is not exposed to
any risk.
Imported berries from many countries are
not subject to the same stringent Australian
growing standards as we were reminded with
the Hepatitis A scare on imported fruit to
Australia in Feb. 2014 and the 3 Hepatitis A
scares on imported fruit to New Zealand in
Nov/Dec 2015
About
Mountainvale is a family owned company. We had our beginings in fruit
brokering and growing in the 1980’s & 90’s. The first commercial plantings
of premium berries were established in Tasmania in 2002.

Climate
The Tasmanian climate is classified as temperate maritime. It rarely gets extreme heat or extreme cold. During the winter months Tasmania provides the long periods of low temperature that berry crops need to provide good quality tasty fruit the following season. During the summer fruiting months this flavour and quality is further enhanced by Tasmania’s mild evenings and cool nights.Landscape
Tasmania’s undulating land form with its rich soils, pristine waters, abundant rain and pure atmosphere grows some of the best temperate fruit and vegetables in the world and berries are no exception.
